Marie Robb serves as Galveston’s Mayor Pro Tem and City Councilwoman for District 6 and is now in her eighth year of service to the people of Galveston. Born in Philadelphia and raised in a first-generation Italian Catholic neighborhood, she learned early the value of hard work, family, and putting people first.
Marie came to Texas through a corporate promotion and chose Galveston as her home nearly 30 years ago, where she quickly became deeply involved in the community.
She brings more than 23 years of executive leadership experience, serving as a General Manager, National Director of Sales, and Vice President for major national healthcare corporations. She held ownership stakes in her last two healthcare companies, and after their successful sale, she launched and operated two successful Galveston-based businesses before retiring from the private sector.
Marie has been active in the community since day one, joining the Galveston Chamber of Commerce in 1996, graduating from Leadership Galveston, and building strong relationships across the island.
Today, she serves as Vice President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Galveston County, is a founding board member of the Galveston Community Police Foundation, and sits on the boards of the Ronald McDonald House Galveston and the Galveston Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Galveston Rotary Club.
As an elected official, Marie represents Galveston on the Houston-Galveston Area Council Board of Directors and serves on the Transportation Policy Council, focusing on results and regional collaboration.
Marie and her husband, Chris, have been married for more than 15 years. They are proud parents and grandparents and remain deeply committed to the Galveston community.

Galveston residents deserve more than vague talk about unnamed problems and unnamed people. They deserve specifics — about flooding, about the condition of our streets, about how our city grows, and who benefits from that growth.
Real leadership isn’t about political theater. It’s about showing up with a plan, putting it on the table where everyone can see it, and being accountable for the results. That’s what transparency looks like. That’s what putting residents first actually means.
For nearly 30 years — including collectively eight years serving on the Galveston City Council — I’ve worked with our community and with local, state, and federal partners. Not to go along and get along, but to get things done for the people who live on this island. I’ve never been in this for myself. I’ve been in it for Galveston.
Our best days are ahead of us — but only if we stop settling for vague promises and good-old-boy politics and start demanding real answers about real issues. The people of this island are smart enough to know the difference between a slogan and a solution.
I’m running to make sure every decision our city makes starts and ends with the people who call Galveston home.

Our Police, Fire, and EMS personnel are the backbone of community safety. Public safety will always be my top priority — ensuring first responders have the tools, training, and support they need to protect every neighborhood.
We must invest wisely in streets, drainage, utilities, and coastal protection. Strong infrastructure strengthens our community, boosts property values, and enhances our quality of life.
Open, honest government builds trust. I am committed to clear communication, fiscal accountability, and making city decisions accessible to everyone.
I will maintain a responsible no net new revenue rate while working to lower taxes through efficient spending, better budgeting, and common-sense management of public funds.
Smart, balanced growth protects what makes Galveston unique. I support development that strengthens our economy while preserving our natural beauty and coastal environment.

Tourism is a cornerstone of Galveston’s economy. I will promote responsible tourism that benefits local businesses, supports our workforce, and showcases our historic and coastal charm — while protecting residents’ quality of life.
The Port is the nation’s fourth busiest cruise home port, serving over 3.4 million passengers each year, and operates cargo facilities on the Galveston Harbor, ranked among the top 40 busiest in the U.S. A self-sustaining city entity, the Galveston Wharves reinvests revenues to grow jobs and strengthen our economy. I will work with the Port to ease traffic on Harborside Drive and support the responsible development of Pelican Island to ensure long-term prosperity. I am currently working on the funding of the Pelican Island Bridge.
I work closely with our county, regional, state, federal partners and public utilities to bring resources, funding, and support to Galveston. Collaboration at every level ensures our city’s priorities are heard — and acted upon.
